NAM CAT TIEN NATIONAL PARK - A WONDER OF BIODIVERSITY

Nam Cat Tien National Park is one of Vietnam’s biggest and most important national parks, lying in the territory of three provinces: Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Binh Phuoc. Here, there is a mix of tropical forests, wetlands, grasslands, altogether forming an ideal space for rare animals and plants. The atmosphere here is quiet, dense with greenery and occasional sunlight, where the earth is damp and bird sounds echo all over the place and some sudden rustle can give you a startle. 

 

Similar to Saigon, in Nam Cat Tien, there are distinct seasons and seasonal changes modify the ambience and landscapes. In the rainy season, the park is green and lush, and in the dry season the paths are dry and easier to navigate. The rhythms of life are strong and abundant here, with various types of fauna and flora. 

 

Here, there are more than 1,500 species of plants and more than 350 species of birds, altogether turning Nam Cat Tien into an ideal spot for animal lovers and birdwatchers. Here, some unique types of animals and plants, such as Afzelia xylocarpa, Dipterocarpus alatus, Lagerstroemia calyculata, forest cycads, wild orchids, strangler figs, climbing rattan, Strychnos nux-vomica, giant bamboo, jungle lianas.
